Plant Trees for the Holidays

Celebrate the season by giving a gift that grows. Whether you’re spreading holiday cheer, stuffing a stocking, or giving to the person who already has everything, your trees create a lasting impact long after the holidays have passed.

Choose to plant your trees in a specific forest or in a forest of greatest need

Send a printed or digital certificate. Printed cards typically arrive within 3–7 days via First-Class Mail

Your trees will be planted during the optimal season, and your gift will be memorialized in our online tree registry.

This holiday season, give more than a traditional gift. Your recipient will receive a special, limited-edition holiday greeting and the knowledge that their gift is making a difference that will continue to grow for years to come.

Holiday Tree Frequently Asked Questions

When will my card/certificate be received?

If you choose a printed card or certificate, it will ship the next business day and will typically arrive within 3–7 days via First-Class U.S. Mail. If you select a digital certificate, it will be emailed to you immediately.

Can I visit the exact location where my trees are planted?

No. Exact planting locations are not provided because commemorative trees are planted in large-scale reforestation projects and often in remote or hazardous areas. However, you are welcome to visit publicly accessible areas near where your trees are planted. While you may not be able to visit your specific trees, you can spend meaningful time in the places they help restore.

Is there a plaque or sign by my tree?

No. There are no plaques or signs placed by individual trees. Your dedication is documented in the Arbor Day Foundation’s online tree registry to preserve the natural landscape.

Where will my trees be planted?

You may select one of our featured forests or choose to plant in a forest of greatest need. The Arbor Day Foundation works with national and regional planting partners to identify forests with the highest ecological need using satellite mapping and environmental data.

What species of trees are planted?

Every reforestation project plants native species selected by local forestry experts. Species vary by location to support biodiversity, climate resilience, and long-term forest health.
