Bootleg Fire Recovery in Oregon
In 2021, the Bootleg Fire burned more than 400,000 acres across the Klamath Basin — a vast 12,000-square-mile watershed spanning southern Oregon and northern California. This region is home to rich biodiversity, vital lakes and rivers, and lands of deep cultural significance to Indigenous communities. Replanting native evergreen trees will help restore forest habitat for bald eagles, big game, and small mammals while improving water quality in the Klamath River. With your support, these efforts will help heal the landscape and rebuild the resilient canopy that sustains life across the Basin.
Michigan State Forests
Michigan’s forestlands were heavily logged in the late 1800s, and efforts are now underway to restore them to their natural state. By replanting native jack and red pine, this project helps revive critical ecosystems and wildlife habitat — especially for the once-endangered Kirtland’s warbler, which relies on young pine forests to survive. Continued reforestation is vital to ensure this rare bird — and many other species — can thrive for generations to come.
