The Spicebush is an aromatic beauty great for shrub borders, native gardens, and woodlands. When the leaves and twigs of a Spicebush are crushed, they release a spicy, citrus-like scent. Its oval leaves turn to a stunning golden yellow in the fall. Beginning in early spring, clusters of small, yellow flowers emerge. On female plants, bright red berries appear later in the spring season – an important food source for birds and other wildlife.
